Abstract:

This lecture provides an in-depth exploration of Russia's stance on its military operation in Ukraine. With much of the Russian media banned in the Western world, this lecture offers a rare opportunity to directly hear the Russian official point of view and understand the situation through the eyes of Russian people.

The speaker will highlight the challenges Russia is currently facing in her path towards resolving the Ukrainian crisis. We will explore the internal and external factors at play, along with the complexities that these challenges bring to the potential for peace.

The latter part of the lecture will focus on the perspectives for peace within the context of this operation. Potential pathways toward a peaceful resolution, the role of international diplomacy, and the hurdles ahead will be evaluated. This discussion aims to promote a deeper understanding of the current situation and foster thoughtful dialogue about the future of Ukraine and Russia's relationship, as well as the wider implications for global peace and security.

Ultimately, this lecture seeks to create a platform for informed discussion, fostering mutual understanding and respect among differing viewpoints, and engaging attendees in a nuanced conversation about a complex geopolitical issue.
