English-medium elective

This course introduces students to a variety of materials taken from contemporary Japanese popular culture and provides students with an opportunity to analyze these materials in the original Japanese language. In addition, we will read scholarship on Japanese popular culture to equip students with various frameworks and methodologies to study the cultural production of Japan from a global perspective.
